The Youth for Sustainability India Alliance launches its new website on the occasion of Econaur’s Green Marathon!
New Delhi, 20th August 2021: On the occasion of Econaur’s Green Marathon, the Youth for Sustainability India Alliance launched its new official website, which was presented online by some of the Alliance’s Founding and Steering Committee Members Kamal Prakash Seth and Pauline Laravoire during a session ‘Working with Youth for Climate Actions’. The Alliance brings together like-minded youth-oriented organisations focused on a national platform to help India achieve its targets under several sustainable development goals with the youth as the accelerator of change.
The Alliance’s website, www.yfsindiaalliance.com – has been co-designed by the Alliance’s members with the purpose of showcasing organisations, initiatives, resources, experts and blogs in relation to the topics of environmental awareness and action, targeting especially the youth of India as agents of change towards sustainability. The website thereby features the list of organisational members and partners of the Alliance; their initiatives and opportunities (e.g. volunteering, internships, jobs); their knowledge resources (e.g. reports, toolkits); and a webpage dedicated to experts and speakers present within the Alliance’s network. Anyone can refer to the website, sign up for the Alliance’s newsletter, get in touch with the Alliance’s Secretariat, and explore all the opportunities present within the ecosystem. This eventually increases the visibility of the sustainability agenda at the national level and tends to accelerate a systemic change. “The challenges related to climate change and unsustainability are so systemic and global that only collective action and large-scale collaborations through consensus building can move the needle”, explains Pauline.
The Alliance aims to harness the tremendous power of the Indian youth to create a sustainable future through collective behaviour change and to drive policy changes in educational campuses, corporate groups, civil society organisations, government and other stakeholders through consensus-building, urgent action, coordination of collective efforts and facilitation of synergies. The members and partners of the Alliance stand for proactive leadership towards SDG 12 and 13, a spirit of collaboration over competitiveness, consensus building, a multi-stakeholder approach to meaningfully accelerate and scale up change and trust in the infinite potential and resourcefulness of the youth.
