Start-up Carnival 3.0

Y-East was the proud Sustainability partner of Start-up Carnival 3.0! The yearly Entrepreneurship event organised by Technopreneurs’ Surrogate Ventures, hosted at Cafe Upthere Offbeat CCU on 27th January 2021, provided a platform to the budding entrepreneurs to get their networking game stronger and to raise funds for their startup ideas. Besides, young entrepreneurs were mentored and guided in the Masterclasses on Business Growth, Stock and Capital Market and Corporate & International Market.

The Startup Carnival also hosted a series of panel discussions, one of which was The Innovation for Impact – A panel discussion on Entrepreneurship for Sustainability which highlighted the importance of Sustainability in Business. The session was moderated by Ms Pauline Laravoire, Co-founder, Y-East & Head of Social Innovation, Technopreneurs Surrogate Ventures Private Limited.
On this occasion, Mr Manan Mehta, Co-founder of Unergia, a marketplace digitising the Solar ecosystem currently in 6 Indian States. Apart from facilitating transactions through their managed marketplace, Unergia also provides Solar SaaS to their partner Installers.
Ms Priyanka Mandal, Co-founder of Clan Earth shared her inspiring story as the initiator of India’s first brand to plant 5 trees per product sold. Clan Earth works with local experienced artisans to handcraft plastic-free and cruelty-free carry and lifestyle accessories.
She has been a zero waster since 2018 and produces as little as 200 gms of waste in a year, which she shared on stage. She envisions to inspire this generation to become Earth ambassadors, stay closer to nature and have a positive impact on the planet.
Mr Skannd Tyagi, Founder and CEO of Starshot Ventures, highlighted the power of technology to perfect processes and bring about significant social impact.
Together, our 3 speakers and panellists provided living proofs that one can do business while keeping real impact at its core and as its priority drive.
