Y-East teamed up with its close partners Offbeat CCU and TopCat CCU to bring together a Facebook community called #EkSaath – a safe haven to all self-isolating, quarantining heroes who are stuck at home or are working from home. Self-isolation/ quarantining at home has definitely helped us curb the spread of Covid-19 and while we do our bit as responsible citizens, what better than engaging in friendly banter, learning a new craft, educating and raising awareness with like-minded communities online. You can check out the Facebook community of #EkSaath here!
Y-East also hosted webinars under #EkSaath to help you take your sustainability learning curve a notch higher from home. Our webinars covered a wide range of topics like ‘Basics of Sustainable Development’, Solar Energy and Electric Mobility, Covid-19 Crisis and Climate Change, Effective Altruism, and Why we need more women leaders in Sustainability in association with The SASI Co and CEEW.
We also invited participants of the webinars to contribute to one of the biggest national fundraising campaigns created by Give India to the benefit of daily workers and families affected by the COVID-19 lockdown under the #EkSaathYoddha campaign. Nearly 90% of India’s workforce belongs to the informal sector. That means about 450 million Indians depend on daily wages to run the household. We offered a chance to learn from highly skilled professionals, industry experts and thought leaders of varied domains through our webinars, proceeds of which were directed towards our fundraiser with Give India. With the love and generosity of our donors, we are able to generate Rs. 56,748 towards buying rations and other essentials for migrant workers across the country. You can check out the fundraiser here
